Gelatin’s Application In Soft Capsules

Gelatin provides favorable filling conditions for the contents of soft capsules, effectively preventing reactions between the capsule shell and the contents. This allows for optimal performance in biopharmaceutical applications. Currently, gelatin soft capsules are widely used in the fields of medicine, nutrition, cosmetics, and more.

The advantages of soft capsules include their ability to accommodate different dosages of drugs and nutrients, ease of swallowing, and rapid disintegration and release of the contents. This type of capsule also offers additional protective functions, such as shielding drugs from light, oxygen, and water, thereby maintaining their stability.

Soft Capsules

Soft capsule products are capsules in which a certain amount of liquid medication is directly enclosed, or solid medication is dissolved and dispersed in an appropriate excipient to form solutions, suspensions, washes, or semi-solids. These capsules are then sealed in spherical or elliptical soft capsules.

Gelatin capsule membranes can provide a completely airtight seal and have high capsule strength and membrane coverage, allowing for long-term stability of the contents. It has been determined that the oxygen barrier capability of gelatin membranes is more than 30 times that of polyethylene film.
It is highly stable against oxygen in the air, preventing air oxidation and moisture absorption.

Gelatin, as a natural biopolymer material, possesses biodegradability, good biocompatibility, and gelatinous properties. It is widely used as a pharmaceutical excipient in the medical field.
Microcapsules refer to miniature containers or packaging materials with polymer shells. Microencapsulation technology is a technique that encapsulates and seals solids, liquids, or gases within microcapsules to form solid particle products.

USAGE:

The gelatin particles and water, according to 1:10, that is 1 part of gelatin powder and 10 parts of cold water soak, (the proportion of adding water can be adjusted according to the production process) 40-60 minutes, after the expansion of water absorption and then indirect heating dissolved, the sol can not be directly heated, the sol temperature is controlled below 80℃, completely heated dissolved into the glue state can be added and used.

The Optional Particle Size Is:
